This is another of my self-accountability posts that will be here to cruelly mock and taunt me if I don't follow through. Negative reinforcement - I respond to it.

I finally signed up for a big bang, something I've always wanted to do. So, decided I may as well bite the bullet... and boy and am I biting an obscure one. My plan is to do a cross of Dean Koontz' Odd Thomas series and SPN. Obviously it would most likely be a ghost story. I plan to write it from Odd's POV and do it pre-book series. That way it could easily read as a standard outsider POV story for those not familiar with the character and not spoil the books as a bonus. But DAMN I'm going to have to get Oddie's voice down and his is nearly as unique and loveable as Dean's. Crap! I really need to get to re-reading the first book. Any fans out there?

This has been finished for a week, but I have been unable to do the edits from by beta.  I wanted to make sure I did get it out there before it became completely irrelevant and before [livejournal.com profile] colls thought I had totally forgotten about writing a story for her.

Title
: Blood  (On LJ -- Ch1, Ch2, Ch3, Ch4 & Epilogue) Or o On AO3
Summary:  A simple stop for gas and snacks on a rural highway turns into a ghostly siege when the spirit of a woman who lost her children attempts to claim a replacement.  Meanwhile, Dean struggles to cope with his anger and adjust to life post-Purgatory.
Written for: [livejournal.com profile] colls as part of the Hurricane Sandy Relief Auction at [livejournal.com profile] spn_bigpretzel, although it is too angsty to be posted there.
Rating: PG-13 for language as well as show level violence
Characters: Sam, Dean, OCs
Genre: Gen, Drama, hurt!Dean
SPOILERS Set after 8.6 – Southern Comfort.  After that it is utter wish fulfillment.
Wordcount: ~20,000
Big thanks to [livejournal.com profile] cappy712 for being a second set of eyes and my designated Sam!girl. I’m a Dean!girl, but I love Sam as well and wanted to make sure I gave him a fair shake even if Dean’s POV doesn’t always reflect that.  All remaining mistakes are mine.  I cannot resist playing post-beta.

A/N:   [livejournal.com profile] colls gave me Characters: Sam, Dean, Crowley, Mary, Kevin, Ash, Anna, and Rufus & Random silly words: dragons, cupcakes, cats, cheese, firecrackers, gas station, and soda pop to work with for her Hurricane Sandy Relief Auction Fic.  As far as characters, only Sam and Dean made it in and the story turned out to be waaaaay longer than it was supposed to be and went in a totally different direction than I had initially planned. So weird how that happens. I do hope she enjoys.

Meant to share this earlier. Blah it sucks to be sick around Christmas :P  This is another fabulous piece of art that [livejournal.com profile] twisted_slinky made for me as part of the Hurricane Sandy Relief Auction at [livejournal.com profile] spn_bigpretzel  The piece is for a crack fic I wrote as Becky Rosen called In the Arms of An Angel -- by SamLicker81

I love how she used my fake author's notes to make middle school girl scribblings :D  This just makes me giggle every time I look at it.

I won art from [livejournal.com profile] twisted_slinky in [livejournal.com profile] spn_bigpretzel's Hurricane Sandy Relief Auction. I asked her if she'd do some for the second story I ever wrote, a Buffy/Supernatural crossover called Take the Long Way Home. She did TWO pieces for me and they're both awesome. I also owe her so much for giving me such great feedback when I was writing that story, because it is so terrifying when you first start posting and I had NO IDEA what I was doing.  A little support goes a long way, so thank you :D

Obviously, giving to worthy charities like disaster relief is extremely important, but as far as the fandom family goes, I think we all (myself included) need to do a better job in the 'giving feedback' department in the coming year.  Personally, I'm often very tied up in writing my own stuff and miss out on a lot of great fic. I need to take more time to enjoy reading again!

If you're one of those that is afraid to leave reviews and doesn't know what to say, trust me, 99% of us authors are just regular people.  We're not sitting in some French cafe wearing a beret, sipping some fancy coffee, and chain smoking while we finish our "masterpiece".  We're much more likely to be doing the laundry and (God help me) trying to clean out whatever it was that was under the microwave *is ashamed*.  Point being, we're not that scary.  Anyway.... Check out my pretties!!!

Title: It’s a Winchester Life (2 of 2)
Summary: A Winchester-y take on Frank Capra’s holiday classic It’s a Wonderful Life. What would the world be like if one Dean Winchester had never been born?
Genre: Gen
Characters: Dean, Cas, Sam, mentions of others
Rating: PG-13 for language
Warnings: Brief suicidal ideation (if you’ve seen the movie, you know the score), S8 SPOILERS
A/N: I fabricated Bedford Falls, NM. I have no idea if this place really exists on a map. If by chance it does and it is your hometown, please don’t be offended. Also, I expect this to be heavily Joss’d come January, but this is the holidays, so I’m gonna have my little fantasy

Wordcount: ~4,800 this part ( ~7K overall)

[livejournal.com profile] spn_bigpretzel is having a fandom auction to benefit those affected by Hurricane Sandy.  I've pimped myself out as an author and there are also a lot of other great authors and artists as well.  Bidding starts at just $5 so come and give what you can!  Clicking on the image should take you straight to the auction post.

I don't plan to quit here unless everyone leaves, but I have setup a DW account just in case....

Title: Hell House '97
Summary: Dean convinces 14-year-old Sam to dress up for a church's "haunted house", so he can try and score with the preacher's daughter. This just may explain why Sam is so anti-Halloween in the pilot.
Artist: [livejournal.com profile] heartblowswild
Rating: PG
Characters: Sam, Dean, a few OC's. No real pairing, just Dean being a hormonal teen over a pretty girl.
Wordcount: ~1,700
Warning: Complete irreverence toward the bizarre practice of "Christian" Hell Houses. IMHO there is nothing Christian about them.

Title: So Help Me God
Summary: Sam and Dean visit Cas in the psych hospital after he convinces them that something supernatural is happening there.  Cas seems convinced he’s found someone who can provide the answer to all their problems.
Setting: Late s7, but I am taking the liberty of imagining that Cas came out of his catatonic state before Reading is Fundamental – meaning, no ‘word of God’ and no Kevin at this point.
Characters/Pairings: Sam, Dean, Cas, Meg (no pairings)
Genre: Gen, Angst
Rating: PG-13
Wordcount: ~2,000

A/N:  Wrote this fic for [livejournal.com profile] ficwriter1966’s birthday.  I don’t know exactly how to classify it.  It was supposed to be sort of a cracky, silly little thing, but it kind of went in another direction.  *shrugs*  The muse is a strange thing.  I do hope you get some enjoyment out of it anyway.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! J

I signed up for six prompts for the 2012 Christmas Wishlist sponsored by the community [livejournal.com profile] wishlist_fic . They won't be filled in any particular order and I don't know if I'll be on schedule, but I'll get 'em out there one way or the other. I promise. Should begin on or around Dec. 1, 2012.  I will put links to the completed fics on this post as they are filled.

I've really lost my mind this year and am writing in 4 different fandoms - all crossovers. And let me tell you, my girl Buffy is getting around this time.  These will in no way be on time, because I need to rewatch parts of Game of Thrones, True Blood, & Walking Dead to make sure I don't screw those up too badly, since I've never written them before.  My prompts are below if you'd like to see the mess I've gotten myself into.

Title: Not Fair
Characters: Sam, Dean
Genre: Gen, humor, a little schmoop
Rating: PG-13 for language
Wordcount: ~3,000

Summary:  Concluding my de-aged Dean saga for cursed!week at [livejournal.com profile] spn_bigpretzel. Instead of teen!Dean, now Sam gets to deal with wee!Dean and he still has to figure out how to break the curse.

A/N: This is the final installment of this little series.  There is also  Not Me & Not Cool.  I've never written wee!chesters before, so I hope I didn't go too cracky or too schmoopy. Weechesters are definitely not my usual thing, so I'm honestly a bit unsure of this. Hope you enjoy.

Wishlist 2012, Prompt Post

ETA: All spots filled! :D

Said I wasn't going to do it this year, but apparently I'm a glutton for punishment extremely festive.  Fair warning: I highly doubt these will be filled on time. Last year, it was February before I posted all my fics and this year I've sold my soul to Satan and may have to pinchhit for him if someone drops out of [livejournal.com profile] spn_bigpretzel's Secret Satan Holiday Fic Exchange.

What is the Wishlist?

The Wishlist is a multi-fandom Christmas fanfiction fest. It is something that started very small and simple three years ago. The premise was simply to write twenty-four ficlets in response to twenty-four prompts, posted between 1 Dec and 24 Dec. Fandom gifts, if you will. Since then it's grown and changed a bit.

The community and the rules in detail can be found here.

I have signed up to write 6 fics and if you want to give me a prompt, please leave a comment on this entry.

Title: Not Cool
Characters: Sam, Dean
Genre: Gen, humor
Rating: PG-13 for language
Wordcount: ~1800

Summary:  Dean’s been hit with a de-aging curse and Sam gets a taste of what it’s like to be a big brother forced to deal with a teenager.  To make things even more interesting for Sam, this curse seems to have a hidden bonus.

A/N: This is a follow-up to my story Not Me, but this one can stand on its own. You don’t have to read the first one to follow along. I intend to do another follow-up as well.

Title: Fifty Shades Weirder
Summary: Follow-up to Fifty Shades of Sammy. The Trickster has dropped the boys into Fifty Shades of Grey.  This is Ana's POV on Sam and Dean as they struggle to act out the roles of Christian and Taylor.
Characters/Pairings: Sam, Dean, Ana  Very one-sided Christian(Sam)/Ana
Rating: PG-13 for language
Genre: parody, crossover
Wordcount: ~1300
Disclaimer: Still not E.L. James or Kripke... and still not right in the head.

A/N: Holy crap! I'm hoping I have finally purged the Fifty Shades trilogy from my subconscious... and my inner goddess, of course. Seriously, I've never read a published work with so much unacknowledge WTF'ery in my entire life! I think adults should be able to read what they want, and I'm certainly no literary snob - but I worry that some women may use those books as a how-to manual for relationships. *shudders*
